: US Military Fellowship

Our team engages individually with fellows to understand their career goals in hopes of matching them to the appropriate position within NetApp.

Program Overview

The US military offers many active military members the ability to participate in fellowships during the end of their military service. At NetApp, fellows are onboarded with the “military fellow” job code and are paid and supported by the military during the fellowship. Fellows do not receive company benefits.

Program Goal

Military fellowships aim to help service members transition from the active military into the civilian world and, ideally, help these individuals find a full-time role at the end of the program.

Although, being a NetApp military fellow does not guarantee a full-time employment at the end of the program, all fellows will still gain valuable experience and expand their professional networks.

NetApp is proud to be recognized as a Military Friendly Employer

My military fellowship at NetApp was highly impactful for my transition into the IT industry, as it allowed me to develop critical skills and gain valuable experience in a corporate environment. I was able to expand my technical knowledge, deepen my understanding of business operations, and build great relationships, which have positioned me for success in my future career endeavors. Overall, my time at NetApp has undoubtedly helped to accelerate my professional growth and broaden my horizons in the field of technology. I would highly encourage other service members to attend NetApp’s military fellowship program because it allows for the development of technical and soft skills that are highly transferable to the civilian workforce.

My military fellowship has been such a rewarding experience. I’ve interacted with mentors from all areas of business in NetApp and all of them have provided me with great wisdom, from drafting a governance document to presenting a project to stakeholders. I was originally hesitant to apply because I had no previous IT experience, but they assisted me in translating my military skills to fit corporate roles and execute them in projects. I am extremely grateful for this fellowship and feel accomplished that I produced positive outcomes with the team I was on.
