FSx for ONTAP has a built-in automated data mirroring feature called SnapMirror. This feature lets you create a mirror copy of a data volume residing on any other ONTAP storage system. The mirrored data always stays up to date and can be accessed directly by a GenAI application on AWS without any impact on the data source. 

The mirrored data maintains its original data structure and metadata making it possible to apply the same security and privacy policies that are applied on the original ONTAP system.

The private data is stored within the organization’s virtual private cloud (VPC) network. The mirrored data is immutable providing protection against ransomware attacks. The data stored in the vector database can be restored instantly thanks to automated snapshots

The responses that the GenAI application provides are based on the user’s access permissions. Users will only receive information that they are authorized to view.
