Innovation Awards

The NetApp Innovation Awards recognize NetApp customers who have helped their companies, customers, or communities through innovative deployment of NetApp® products and solutions.

Award recipients are honored for achieving positive business results using NetApp, demonstrating creativity and thought leadership in storage best practices, and embodying the NetApp "can do" and "create a model company" spirit. In the Humanitarian category, NetApp customers are honored for their community service efforts. NetApp Innovation Award Categories include:

Enterprise Business Applications
Any customer worldwide (enterprise, midsized, or distributed) who has deployed NetApp® systems for Oracle®, SAP®, SQL Server™, or Exchange applications and can demonstrate measurable returns in cost savings, efficiencies, reduced power consumption, or other business metrics may apply. Qualifying NetApp products may be NetApp systems used for primary or secondary storage or storage virtualization, NetApp software for management or protection of business application data, or NetApp products for encryption of business application data.
Enterprise Infrastructure
Any customer worldwide (enterprise, midsized, or distributed) who has deployed NetApp systems to power data center, workgroup, department, collaborative, or HPC applications that are specifically not Oracle, SAP, SQL Server, or Exchange and can demonstrate that the company is doing something new and innovative with NetApp products such as rendering more complex graphics, analyzing more seismic and geospatial data, or engineering advanced microprocessors may apply. Qualifying NetApp products may be NetApp systems used for primary or secondary storage or storage virtualization, NetApp software for management or protection of critical application data, or NetApp products for encryption.
Public Sector
Any customer worldwide in government (city, state, country, federal, county, and so on), public association, public educational institution, or military/defense organization who has deployed NetApp systems to power data center, workgroup, department, collaborative, HPC, or enterprise applications (Oracle, SAP, SQL Server, or Exchange) and can demonstrate that they are doing something new and innovative with NetApp products.
Green
Any customer worldwide that has used NetApp technology in their data center in a way that has measurably reduced power, the data center footprint, or energy costs and/or made it possible for a company to delay building additional data centers.
Individual
Any individual within a customer organization who has achieved business success through innovation with NetApp solutions or has championed streamlined solutions within the IT organization may apply.
Humanitarian
Any NetApp customer (company or individual) who is giving something back to the community (for example, local government, eco-friendly organization, or nonprofit group) may apply.

Companies can nominate themselves or be nominated by NetApp sales, channel, or technology partners; other companies; or colleagues through the online submission forms. All nominations must be received by midnight Pacific Time on Friday, October 10, 2008, to be eligible for consideration. One winner from each category will be selected by a third-party panel of judges and will be notified no later than December 12, 2008. Each category winner will be recognized during an awards ceremony at NetApp Accelerate 2009 in San Francisco, California, February 23–26, 2009.Winners must be present at the awards ceremony to be eligible to receive the award (travel and accommodations will be provided by NetApp). Any channel partner who nominates a winning NetApp customer will also be invited to the event.
